Mysterious Roopkund Lake  एक रहस्यमयी झील , दुनियाभर के लिए रोमांच रहस्य और सनसनीखेज देवभूमि , उत्तराखंड का ये हिस्सा हर देश के पर्वतारोहियों और ट्रेकर्स के लिए अजूबा भी है और चुनौती भी। एक ऐसी जगह जहाँ पर गर्मी का मौसम जब आता है, तब धीरे धीरे बर्फ़ पिघलने लगती है। उसी के साथ सैकड़ों मानवी कंकाल ऊपर आते है। इस जगह पर चारों और इंसान की खोपड़ियाँ और हड्डियाँ देखने मिलेगी। मन में हज़ारों सवाल उठे होंगे की इतने सारे लोगों की हड्डियां इस रूपकुंड झील में आयी कहा से? यहा पर ऐसा क्या हुआ था की इतने सारे लोग मारे गए थे? आइये पढ़ते हैं रहस्य्मयी रूपकुंड की पूरी कहानी

Mysterious Roopkund Lake   रूपकुंड को “कंकाल झील” या फिर “Mystery Lake” और “Skeleton Lake” भी कहा जाता है। भारत के उत्तराखंड राज्य के चमोली जिले में हिमालय के सबसे उच्च स्थान पर Roopkund Skeleton Lake स्थित है। इसकी ऊँचाई १६४७० फ़ीट (५०२० मीटर) तक है। इस झील की गहराई तकरिबन ३ मीटर तक है। रूपकुंड झील को पूरे उत्तराखंड राज्य में सबसे ऊंचाई वाली झील माना जाता है। हिमालय की चोटी पर यह झील होने की वजह से झील के आसपास के परिसर वीरान है। रूपकुंड झील बर्फ़ीले पहाड़ों के बीचों बीच बना हुआ है। Tourist भी  खिंचे चले आते है। मानो इस झील की खूबसूरती हमें अपनी और खींच लाती है।

  • Mysterious Roopkund Lake   कहा जाता है की, रूपकुंड झील  में जो मानव कंकाल मौजूद है उसकी खोज ९ वी शताब्दी से की जा रही है। १९४२ में नंदा देवी गेम रिज़र्व रेंजर H.K. Madhwal (Hari Kishan Madhwal) ने इन कंकालों के बारे में जानने के लिए इस झील की फिर से खोज की थी।  उन्हें इस रूपकुंड झील में और ३० कंकाल मिले और उनपर Study किए गए। Study के दौरान उन्हें यह पता चला की, जो कंकाल मिले उसमें से कुछ कंकालो के साथ अभी भी मांस जुड़े हुए है। साल में एक बार गरमी के मौसम में यहा का बर्फ़ पिघलने में एक महीना लगता है। बर्फ़ पिघलने के बाद झील के पानी में यह कंकाल पूरी तरह से साफ़ दिखाई देते है।

  • Mysterious Roopkund Lake   शुरुआत में माना जाता था की, यह अवशेष जापानी सैनिकों के है। क्योंकि दूसरे विश्व युद्ध के दौरान भारत पर आक्रमण करने के लिए यह जपानी सैनिक हिमालय के बाकी इलाकों में से गुज़र रहे थे। मौसम खराब होने की वजह से उन सब की मौत हो गयी थी। उस वक़्त ब्रिटिश सरकार भारत पर शासन कर रही थी। सच्चाई का पता लगाने के लिए ब्रिटिश सरकार ने जाँच पड़ताल के लिए वहां पर एक टीम भेजी थी। Research के बाद यह बात सामने आयी की यह कंकाल जापानी सैनिकों के नहीं थे। क्यूँकि यह कंकाल सैकड़ों साल पुराने थे। लेकिन यहां रहने वाले लोग कुछ अलग कहानी को मानते है।

  • Mysterious Roopkund Lake  लोगों का मानना है की कुछ लोगों का समूह इस हिमालय की बर्फीली पहाड़ी में फस गया था। उनके पास बचने का कोई रास्ता नहीं था। और वो सभी लोग एक साथ मर गए। यह लोग नंदा देवी के दर्शन के लिए जा रहे थे ऐसा माना जाता है। हिमालय में नंदा देवी का मंदिर है जो की हिंदुओं का श्रद्धा स्थान माना जाता है। रूपकुंड में हर १२ साल में एक बार “राज जात ” नाम का उत्सव मनाया जाता है। उसी दौरान नंदा देवी की पूजा की जाती है। उस वक़्त बड़ी दूर से लोग यहां आते है।

  • Mysterious Roopkund Lake   वैज्ञानिकों के Research के बात यह पता चला की, रूपकुंड झील में तकरिबन २०० कंकाल मिले है। इन कंकाल पर और भी रिसर्च हुए थे। इन कंकालो पर Harney et al (हार्नी एट अल) द्वारा जाँच की गयी। सन २०१८ में मालूम हुआ की इन कंकालो के भी दो अलग-अलग प्रकार के Groups थे। एक group में जो कंकाल मिले थे वो एक ही परिवार के सदस्य के है। और दूसरे Group में जो कंकाल मिले थे वो लोग थोड़े अलग थे। यानी की वह लोग क़द में थोड़े छोटे थे।इन कंकालो की वजह से Roopkund Lake पर्यटकों का आकर्षण बन गयी। बड़ी दूर दूर से लोग यहां आने लगे। ट्रेकर्स के लिए तो यह अद्भुत और रोमांचक जगह आज भी एक रहस्य है।
