Turram Khan ये कहानी है आजादी से करीब 100 साल पहले की। वह दौर था 1857 की क्रांति का। जगह थी हैदराबाद। यहां भी एक लड़ाई लड़ी गई, जिसके बारे में इतिहास में कम ही जिक्र मिलता है। पन्ना पलटने पर तुर्रेबाज़ खान का नाम कहीं-कहीं पता चलता है जिसे बेगम बाजार का एक साधारण सैनिक बताया गया है। हालांकि उनका काम असाधारण रहा। ऐसे में आज की पीढ़ी के लिए यह जानना और भी जरूरी हो जाता है कि हैदराबाद का तुर्रेबाज खान कौन था ?
Turram Khanमेरठ से बगावत की चिंगारी हैदराबाद पहुंची
- Turram Khan वास्तव में तुर्रेबाज खान वह शख्स थे, जिन्होंने देश के प्रथम स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के मानचित्र पर हैदराबाद का नाम दर्ज कराया। मेरठ की कहानी तो हम सभी जानते हैं लेकिन हैदराबाद में भी 1857 के विद्रोह की अपनी कहानी है। इस लड़ाई का नेतृत्व किया था तुर्रेबाज खान ने। उन्हें ही तुर्रम खां के नाम से जाना जाता है। उनके साथ थे मौलवी अलाउद्दीन। हैदराबाद में अंग्रेजी हुकूमत के खिलाफ बगावत की ज्वाला जमींदार चीदा खान को आजाद कराने के लिए सुलगी, जिन्हें रेजीडेंसी के अंदर जेल में रखा गया था। मेरठ में बगावत की खबर हैदराबाद पहुंच चुकी थी, मस्जिदों, चर्चों, चौराहों हर जगहों पर पोस्टर लगाते हुए निजाम और आम जनता से अपील की गई कि वे सभी ब्रिटिश के खिलाफ खड़े हों। हालांकि निजाम अफजल उद-दौला और उसके मंत्री सलार जंग ने अंग्रेजों का साथ दिया।
Turram Khan 5000 लड़ाकों की बनाई फौज
- Turram Khan अंग्रेजों के खिलाफ तुर्रेबाज और उनके साथियों के गुस्से की बड़ी वजह निजाम का ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी के साथ किया गया अलायंस था। निजाम की सेना और ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी में मौजूद भारतीय सिपाहियों ने यूरोपीय अधिकारियों के खिलाफ बगावत कर दी। उनमें जमींदार चीदा खान भी थे। उस समय हैदराबाद में मौजूद सेना की टुकड़ी को दिल्ली कूच करने का आदेश दिया गया। चीदा खान ने इसका विरोध किया। इसे विदेशियों द्वारा मुगल शासक को सत्ता से हटाने का प्रयास समझा गया। चिदा खान 15 अन्य सिपाहियों के साथ हैदराबाद के लिए निकल गए। उन्हें उम्मीद थी कि निजाम सपोर्ट करेंगे लेकिन जैसे ही वह हैदराबाद में दाखिल हुए निजाम के मंत्री मीर तुराब अली खान ने गिरफ्तार कर उन्हें अंग्रेजों को सौंप दिया। बगावत का झंडा बुलंद करते हुए तुर्रेबाज खान ने क्रांतिकारियों को एकजुट किया और करीब 5000 बहादुर लड़ाकों की फौज खड़ी कर दी। इसमें कई अरब और छात्र भी शामिल थे।
Turram Khan गद्दारी हो गई
- Turram Khan इसी दौरान मौलवी अलाउद्दीन भी तुर्रेबाज के साथ हो गए। एक दिन शाम 6.30 बजते-बजते रेजीडेंसी को घेर लिया गया। पश्चिमी दीवार की तरफ दो बड़ों घरों में उन्होंने पोजीशन ले ली। दो साहूकारों अब्बन साहेब और जयगोपाल दास ने इस मिशन के लिए अपना घर तक खाली कर दिया। उधर, ब्रिटिश रेजिडेंसी की तरफ 5000 लोगों के कूच करने की खबर मंत्री मीर तुराब अली खान तक पहुंचा दी गई। उसने गद्दारी करते हुए रेजीडेंसी को अलर्ट कर दिया। घर से पोजीशन लिए हुए इन जांबाजों पर मद्रास हॉर्स आर्टिलरी के प्रशिक्षित सैनिक भारी पड़ रहे थे। पूरी रात फायरिंग चलती रही। सुबह 4 बजे तक क्रांतिकारियों ने मोर्चा संभाला और फिर शहीद हो गए। रेजीडेंसी से लगातार होती फायरिंग देख दो हवेलियों में छिपे लड़ाके भाग निकले। चारों तरफ शव ही शव बिखरे पड़े थे।
Turram Khan तुर्रम खां ने मुंह नहीं खोला
- Turram Khan तुर्रेबाज यह सोचकर भाग निकले कि वह अपनी ताकत और बढ़ाकर वापस अटैक करेंगे। 22 जुलाई को तुराब अली खान ने अंग्रेजों को तुर्रेबाज के बारे में सूचना लीक कर दी। तुर्रेबाज को उनकी आंख के पास मौजूद निशान से पहचान लिया गया और जंगल में गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया। हैदराबाद कोर्ट में मुकदमा चला और आजीवन सजा काटने के लिए अंडमान भेजने का फैसला सुनाया गया। सुनवाई के दौरान उनसे मौलवी अलाउद्दीन के बारे में सख्ती से पूछताछ की गई लेकिन एक सच्चे देशभक्त की तरह उन्होंने जुबान नहीं खोली। उन्हें ऑफर दिया गया कि अगर वह मौलवी के बारे में जानकारी दे देंगे तो सजा कम कर दी जाएगी लेकिन उन्होंने सारे आरोपों को अपने ऊपर ले लिया।
- तुर्रेबाज बेहद पराक्रमी और तेजतर्रार थे। ‘काला पानी की सजा’ काटने के लिए उन्हें भेजा जाता, उससे पहले ही 18 जनवरी 1859 को वह जेल से भागने में कामयाब रहे। उन पर 5000 रुपये का इनाम घोषित हुआ। इतिहासकार मानते हैं कि वह धोखे से जंगल में पकड़ लिए गए और 24 जनवरी को उन्हें घेरकर गोली मार दी गई। उनके शव को शहर में घसीट कर घुमाया गया। कुछ इतिहासकारों का यह भी कहना है कि उनके शव से कपड़े हटाकर रेजीडेंसी के पास पेड़ से लटका दिया गया था।
