Urvashi Mandir Chamoli  जब कोई महिला किसी को उसकी सुंदरता के लिए उपमा देती है तो उर्वशी जैसी लगती हो कहती है। उर्वशी मतलब एक ऐसी स्त्री जो कामुकता और सौंदर्य की मिसाल हो लेकिन क्या आप जानते हैं वास्तविकता में उर्वशी का जन्म कैसे और कहाँ हुआ था ? तो चलिए आज हम आपको उस मंदिर के बारे में बताते हैं जो खुद सौंदर्य की देवी उर्वशी का है जो उत्तराखंड के चमोली में बामणी गाँव में मौजूद है।

Urvashi Mandir Chamoli  उत्तराखंड के चमोली जिले में वैसे तो कई मंदिर हैं जिनकी अलग अलग मान्यताएं हैं.लेकिन आज हम जिस मंदिर के बारे मे बता रहे हैं वो रूप और सुंदरता की देवी को समर्पित है. दूरस्थ चमोली जिले के बद्रीनाथ धाम के नजदीकी गांव बामणी गांव में उर्वशी मंदिर स्थित है. देवी उर्वशी को बद्रिकाश्रम में भगवान विष्णु (नारायण) की बायीं जांघ से बनाया गया था. अलकनंदा के तट पर स्थित यह मंदिर नारायण और नीलकंठ पर्वत की पृष्ठ भाग में स्थित है.इसके नजदीक ऋषिगंगा का एक सुंदर झरना भी है, जो इस जगह की सुंदरता को और अधिक बढ़ा देता है.

Urvashi Mandir Chamoli  स्थानीय बुजुर्ग बताते हैं कि बद्रीनाथ क्षेत्र में भगवान विष्णु के अवतरण के बाद पूरे ब्राह्मण में जश्न मनाया गया जहां एक ओर गंधर्वों व किन्नरों ने गाना गया, तो वहीं अप्सराओं ने नृत्य किया. देवराज इंद्र ने सोचा कि कहीं नारायण उनके राजपाट को न अपना लें इसके लिए उन्होंने नारायण के ध्यान को भ्रमित करने के लिए सुंदर अप्सराओं को भेजा. अप्सराओं ने भगवान नारायण के ध्यान को भंग करने के लिए रोमांचक नृत्य इत्यादि से उन्हें मोहित करने का प्रयत्न किया, लेकिन इसका नारायण पर कोई भी प्रभाव न पड़ा. उसके बाद नारायण ने अपनी कमल की जांघ को छुआ जिससे एक सुंदर स्त्री प्रकट हुई और जिसे देख सभी अप्सराएं शर्मिंदा हो गई.

Urvashi Mandir Chamoli  फिर नारायण ने बताया कि इंद्र के सिंहासन को संभालने में उन्हें कोई भी दिलचस्पी नहीं है और वे केवल आध्यात्मिक प्राप्ति के लिए तपस्या कर रहे हैं. भगवान नारायण की जांघ से उत्पन्न हुई उसकी अप्सरा का नाम ‘उर्वशी’ रखा गया. जिसका मंदिर आज भी बामणी गांव में मौजूद है. साथ ही वे बताते हैं कि श्रीमद् देवी भागवत उर्वशी पीठ की बात करता है यानी भगवती सती का एक अंश यहां भी गिरा है इसलिए भागवत कहता है ‘बदरियाम् उर्वशी तथाः’.उर्वशी मंदिर अन्य सामान्य हिंदू मंदिरों की तरह बेहद सरल है. मंदिर की सरल वास्तुकला उत्तर भारत में पाई जाने वाली नागर शैली पर आधारित है.
