Garun Puran Rules पद्मपुराण में भी स्नान को लेकर नियम बताए गए हैं। पद्मपुराण में इस संबंध में एक कथा भी बताई गई है। एक बार गोपियां स्‍नान करने नदी में उतरी तो श्रीकृष्ण ने उनके कपड़े छिपा दिए। गोपियां जब वस्‍त्र ढूंढ़ने लगी तो उन्हें नहीं मिले।  इस पर श्रीकृष्ण ने उन्हें कहा कि ऐसा तुम्हें लगता है कि यहां कोई नहीं था लेकिन मैं तो हर पल, हर जगह मौजूद होता हूं। आसमान में उड़ते पक्षियों, जमीन पर चलने वाले जीवों और जल में मौजूद जीवों ने भी तुम्हें निर्वस्त्र देखा। इतना ही नहीं, जल रूप में मौजूद वरुण देव ने भी तुम्हें देखा। यह उनका अपमान है। इससे आप पाप का भागी बनते हैं। इसी वजह है कि हमें पूर्ण निर्वस्त्र होकर स्नान नहीं करना चाहिए।
