Blame Game पाकिस्तान के पूर्व कप्तान व तेज गेंदबाज वसीम अकरम ने चौंकाने वाला खुलासा करते हुए पाकिस्तान टीम के अपने पूर्व साथी सलीम मलिक पर अपने करियर के शुरुआती दौर में नौकर की तरह व्यवहार करने का आरोप लगाया है। अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट में 1984 में पदार्पण करने वाले अकरम ने कहा कि टीम के सीनियर साथी मलिक ने उनसे मालिश कराई और उनसे कपड़े तथा जूते साफ कराए।

Blame Game अकरम ने यह खुलासा अपनी आत्मकथा ‘सुल्तान: एक संस्मरण’ में किया है। आत्मकथा के एक अंश के अनुसार, ‘‘वह मेरे जूनियर होने का फायदा उठाता था। वह नकारात्मक, स्वार्थी था और मेरे साथ एक नौकर की तरह व्यवहार करता था। उसने मांग की कि मैं उसकी मालिश करूं, उसने मुझे अपने कपड़े और जूते साफ करने का आदेश दिया।’’इसके अनुसार, ‘‘मैं गुस्से में था जब रमीज, ताहिर, मोहसिन, शोएब मोहम्मद जैसे टीम के कुछ युवा सदस्यों ने मुझे नाइट क्लबों में आमंत्रित किया।’’

  • Blame Game अकरम 1992 से 1995 तक मलिक की कप्तानी में खेले और ऐसी खबरें थीं कि दोनों खिलाड़ियों के संबंध अच्छे नहीं थे। मलिक ने हालांकि आरोपों से इनकार करते हुए कहा कि अकरम ने ये सब अपनी किताब के प्रचार के लिए लिखा है। पाकिस्तानी मीडिया ने मलिक के हवाले से कहा, ‘‘मैं उन्हें फोन करने की कोशिश कर रहा था लेकिन उन्होंने फोन नहीं उठाया। मैं उनसे पूछूंगा कि उन्होंने जो लिखा उसका कारण क्या था।’’ उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘अगर मैं संकीर्ण सोच वाला होता तो मैं उसे गेंदबाजी करने का मौका नहीं देता। मैं उससे पूछूंगा कि उसने मेरे बारे में ऐसी बातें क्यों लिखी।’’
