With a desire to live a more sustainable and conscious life, he eventually decided to work towards becoming a self-sufficient organic farmer. This quest led him to work on farms in Spain and India. Equipped with new skills and passion, Veer returned to India to once again seek a life in agriculture and set an example of a small but successful organic farming operation. His dream was to create a model that would become an inspiration for the country and the world in the years to come. But this was not Veer’s path, and several months later he found himself at Malsi Estate in Dehradun.
Inspired by the natural beauty of the place, the surrounding sal forest and the confidence that arose from his new outlook on life, the dream of creating a happy place was born. Thus began Vana’s journey, and months later, Veer set himself the goal of creating the most prestigious wellness retreat in the world. After nearly five years of hard work, Vana Malsi Estate opened in January 2014. Veer represented India on the board of the Global Spa & Wellness Summit.
In 2013, VANA announced its soft opening by hosting the GSWS Pre-Summit Retreat from 1–4 October and after the Summit in Delhi, VANA also hosted the Post-Summit Retreat from 8–11 October 2013, to give more GSWS delegates a glimpse of the retreat. Veer sees ‘VANA’ as an expression of his faith and life journey, and hopes that its purpose is ‘to serve and enhance well-being’.
