  • Sunday Become Holiday ईसाई धर्म के अनुसार तो ईसाई धर्म के लोग एसा मानते है की जब भगवान इस दुनिया को बना रहे थे तब उन्होंने लगातार 6 दिन तक काम किया था तब जाकर यह धरती बन पाई थी. इतना काम करते-करते वो थक गए थे जिसके कारन उन्होंने 7 वे दिन आराम करने का फैसला किया. यह 7 वाँ दिन ही रविवार था. इस वजह से वो लोग सप्ताह के आखिरी दिन यानि की रविवार को holiday के रूप में मनाने लगे.

  • Sunday Become Holiday यह तब की बात है जब भारत अंग्रेजों का ग़ुलाम था. उस दौरान ब्रिटिश सरकार सभी काम भारत के मज़दूरों से करवाते थे. इन मज़दूरों को एक भी दिन छुट्टी नहीं मिलती थी और लगातार काम करना पड़ता था जबकि ब्रिटिश के सरकारी अफसरों को रविवार की छुट्टी दी जाती थी. ब्रिटिशो के इन्ही ज़ुल्म के कारन मज़दूरों के यूनियन लीडर “नारायण मेघाजी लोखंडे” ने ब्रिटिश सरकार को हप्ते के आखिरी दिन छुट्टी रखने की दरखास्त की लेकिन अंग्रेजी हुक़ूमत ने यह फरमान ठुकरा दिया.जब ब्रिटिश सरकार ने इस प्रस्ताव को ठुकरा दिया तब “नारायण मेघाजी लोखंडे” मजदुर भाईओ को साथ लेकर लगातार 7 सालों तक संघर्ष किया तब जाकर ब्रिटिश सरकार ने 10 जून 1880 के दिन रविवार को छुट्टी का दिन घोषित किया.

  • Sunday Become Holiday हिन्दू मान्यताओं के अनुसार सप्ताह का आरम्भ रविवार से होता है, यह दिन भगवन सूर्यदेव का दिन माना जाता है। सूर्यदेव को सभी ग्रहों का स्वामी माना जाता है इसलिए इस दिन पूजा पाठ करने से सभी ग्रहों की कृपा दृष्टि बनी रहती है। ये धरना प्राचीन काल से चली आ रही है। ये तो हिन्दू धर्म की बात अब ईसाई धर्म में रविवार को सप्ताह का आखिरी दिन माना जाता है और ये मान्यता है की ईश्वर ने सप्ताह के 6 दिन धरती के सृजन कार्य किया और सातवे दिन आराम किया था।इसी वजह से अधिकतर देशों में रविवार का दिन छुट्टी के लिए तय किया गया और साथ ही इसे वीकेंड का नाम भी दिया गया है। ईसाई धर्म के अनुसार इस दिन काम करना अशुभ माना जाता है।
